We adjusted our plans for 2022, and some of our approved homes elected to wait for our next pairing, so we are putting feelers out for an active pet or sporting home for our upcoming litter expected in April. Ideal homes would have a securely fenced yard or dig/climb proof run for unsupervised time, live in a state/county/city that doesn't ban wolfdog mixes, and experience training and handling primitive-type dogs or sled dogs. Homes flexible on gender are great, since we can't predict how many of each gender we'll get
Both parents are fully health tested. This pairing was selected based off the temperament, structure, longevity, and health history of the individual dogs and in the lines behind them. It is also a genetic outcross from my female's linebred pedigree. I intend to hold back a couple of puppies myself to work and raise, and I'd like to see the puppies I don't hold onto go to active homes. Screening applies, and puppies are sold on a contract which includes a no breeding clause unless they pass all health and temperament testing as adults.
Dam: F3 wolfdog from OFA tested Cottonwoodz lines. Great longevity behind her -- parents are on the older end and her grandsire lived to be almost 18, with aunts/uncle's/greats regularly making it to 15+. Bikejors recreationally with me on a 2 dog team. Clean and non-destructive in the house when supervised but is crated or outside in a secure fenced area when I'm not home, settled well, travels great in a vehicle, confident in public, aloof with strangers and mostly just ignores them unless I ask her to greet them for a treat or other reward, good food drive, good with other dogs including same sex dogs, off leash e - collar trained. OFA Fair/Normal, PennHip .27/.32, CAER Normal (breeder option), Embark DNA Clear. 79lbs and 29in tall.
Sire: Alaskan Husky from distance lines (Mackey/King/Sheer). Proven sled dog, still running as of 2021 season at 9yrs old. Travels great, highly social with people, zero same sex selectivity or issues with other dogs, lives at a traditional racing kennel but has spent time inside and had no issues. Very sticky and reliable off leash without a lot of training put into it, lots of engagement with his handler. OFA Excellent/Normal, CAER Normal, Embark DNA Clear. 63lbs and about 25-26in tall.
Happy to answer any questions.
